Nordplus: The Nordic and Baltic countries

Nordplus is the Nordic Council of Ministers' framework programme for cooperation between the Nordic and Baltic countries.

What is Nordplus?

Nordplus aims to strengthen the sense of community by supporting mobility, exchanges, and networking between the five Nordic countries, the autonomous regions of Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and Åland, as well as the Baltic countries Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The programme is based on network collaboration between higher education institutions or other organisations in higher education around a defined project. At KI, some Bachelor and Master programmes participate in various Nordplus networks, which apply annually for funding to support activities within their respective networks.

What applies to study programmes participating in Nordplus collaborations?

Some study programmes participate in or coordinate collaborations with other institutions in the Nordic region through Nordplus. Funding for activities and coordination is managed by the department or programme committee, but the collaboration must be anchored centrally.

For projects/networks coordinated at KI (Nordplus applications and Nordplus reports)

  1. The Head of Department for the relevant department must sign the document, preferably next to the signature of the contact person.
For the Study programmes in Biomedicine and Medicine, the Programme Director for the respective programme must sign.
  2. The document is then sent to the International Coordinator at KI.
  3. The International Coordinator at IK/KI registers the document and sends a copy of the signed document to KI’s contact person for the respective network.

For projects coordinated by another institution (eg Letter of Intent)

  1. The person who, according to the study programme, has a delegation on signing exchange agreements, must counter-sign next to the contact person's signature
  2. The document is then sent to the international coordinator at KI.
  3. The international coordinator registers the document and sends a copy of signed document to KI's contact person for the network in question.
