Operational plan for Professional Services

This is an overview of the operational plan for the Professional Services at KI 2025.

Remit and responsibilities

The overall mission of the Professional Services is to support the university's core activities of research, education and collaboration. The business support will also be a support to enable the management and governance of the organisation via the President and other management functions. Professional servises shall also contribute to the fulfilment by the university of fulfils its mission and complies with the applicable rules, laws and regulations.

Business support should be efficient and based on the needs of core business and management functions. Professional services will proactively assess needs and actively participate in the identification of challenges and the development of common solutions. Support should be characterized by a professional, committed and positive approach. 

The operational support throughout KI must work in the same direction. For this reason, close co-operation with the departments' local operational support is particularly important. 

  • Support KI's continued development in identified strategic focus areas.
  • Continued to coordinate the overall operational support within KI (subproject 2, F1).
  • Develop business planning and monitoring across the whole of KI.
  • Investigate the possibility of replacing or upgrading access control systems for increased security.
  • Continued business development through increased digitalisation and automation of tasks (AI/robotization).
  • Strengthen and coordinate security work at KI
  • Continued implementation of Coordinated IT
  • Establish a development office 
  • Modernising the workplace and ways of working 
  • Coordinate financial and HR work within GVS
