Staff loan (HR-support)

Under certain conditions, it is possible to lend staff between government agencies. This can be done if there is a co-operation agreement between the government agencies.

Usually the need for staff loans arises when an government agency has a short-term need for expertise. Staff loans are always made within the framework of the employee's employment, i.e. the employee retains salary and other employment benefits. The main principle is that staff loans are voluntary.

These issues should be discussed prior to a staff loan:

- Existence of a co-operation agreement between the government agencies (must exist)

- Period (recommended maximum 6 months)

- Full-time or part-time

- Invoicing of costs

The possibility of staff loans is only available between government agencies, not with other employers such as “regionen”.

If you as a manager have questions about this, please contact HR at your institution. If HR has any questions, please contact your contact person within labour law.
