Summary of the guidlines

The guidelines address fundamental provisions and principles, general regulations on employment, procedures for the appointment of teachers, eligibility requirements and duties, as well as promotion to Senior Lecturer.

A new Appointment Procedure came into force on 1 April 2026. Under the new procedures, greater flexibility is introduced for combining academic positions with clinical positions in the healthcare sector. In addition to professors and senior lecturers, assistant senior lecturers, assistnat professors and lecturers may now also hold a combined position.

However, KI cannot apply these new possibilities until a new collective agreement is in place at Region Stockholm. Further information will be provided as soon as the timeline has been confirmed.
