Sunet Scribe: transcribe and create subtitles

Who is Sunet Scribe for?

Sunet Scribe is for staff at KI who need to transcribe or subtitle audio and video material as part of their work.

This may include researchers and doctoral students, teachers or staff who work with interview material, communication or content production.

Scribe is Sunet's national service for automatic transcription and subtitling, specially developed for research and education. The service runs on its own infrastructure in Sweden and uses open AI models for speech-to-text. 

The service is designed to handle sensitive personal data and information requiring protection. You can read more about security in Scribe at Sunet.

What can I use Sunet Scribe for?

You can use Scribe, for example, to:

• transcribe recorded interviews and other research material
• convert speech in audio and video files into text
• create subtitles for teaching material
• subtitle video and other communication material.

Sunet Scribe supports Swedish, English and several other languages. The service also includes features for speaker identification and editing. Results can be exported in formats including TXT, RTF, JSON, SRT and VTT.

Please note: automatic transcription may contain errors. Always review the result, especially names, specialist terms and the identification of different speakers, before using the text further.

Order Sunet Scribe

You order access to Sunet Scribe via Wisum (the KI-Programvaror category).

Specify which organisational unit you belong to and briefly describe what you will use the service for. Once your order has been processed, you will receive information about how to activate your account and log in.

Cost

The fixed monthly fee is SEK 50, and the user licence is personal.

In addition, your actual usage is billed in arrears at a cost of SEK 0.55 per transcribed minute.
